Parthasarathi Traders

Parthasarathi Traders is located at 6, Hospital Road in Thiruponthiru. Being on Hospital Road means there are always people moving about. We see ambulances and families walking by all day long. The shop isn’t very large, but we make the most of the space we have. We keep the doors open to let some air in, though it gets quite humid here. Inside, the shelves are filled with whatever we are stocking that week. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we get deliveries. We have a small desk in the back where we handle the money and the phone calls. Thiruponthiru is a place where people know each other, so we get a lot of locals just popping in to say hi. The walls are a pale yellow and the lights hum a little bit. We don’t have fancy signs or computer screens everywhere. It’s mostly paper ledgers and pens. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit outside on the steps for a while. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We don’t think much about the future or big plans. We just focus on what’s in front of us. The pavement outside is a bit uneven, so you have to watch your step. We’ve been at this number 6 spot for quite some time. It’s just a normal business doing its thing in the neighborhood. Every morning starts with sweeping the front and getting ready for whoever might stop by.
