We run Papayas Fresh Fish Hub Private Limited out of the Papayas Building in Thrikkannamangalkottarakara. It’s a straightforward name for a straightforward business. We deal with fish, so the work starts very early in the morning before the sun is even up. The place is usually bustling with activity by five AM. We have a lot of ice around to keep things cold, and the floors are always being hosed down. It is a physical job that requires a lot of heavy lifting. We aren't sitting at desks all day. Most of us are on our feet, moving crates and checking the quality of what comes in. The building itself is a well-known spot in the Thrikkannamangal area. We’ve been at this for a while and it has become our second home. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or polished logos. The sign on the building is simple and tells you exactly what is inside. We are just a group of people working together to run a fish hub. Sometimes the days are long and exhausting, but that is the nature of the trade. We don't make any grand claims about being the best. We just try to get the work done and keep the facility running properly. It’s a busy, damp, and loud place, but it’s our place. If you come by in the afternoon, things have usually quieted down and we are cleaning up for the next day.
