Thoppumpady is a place that always has that salt-air smell, which is right where we need to be. Our mailing address is P.B. No. 818, but the heart of what we do is right here in the middle of the action near the harbor. India Sea Foods has been around this area for a long time. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of people moving around, especially near the docks. We aren't interested in being flashy; our building is just a place to get the job done. The work involves a lot of moving parts, literally and figuratively, because seafood doesn't wait for anyone. You’ll often see us dealing with the local catch or talking to the people who bring it in. It can be a bit chaotic at times, especially when the boats are coming in and everyone is trying to get their stuff sorted. We have a small crew and we all know each other's names. It’s the kind of place where you have a cup of tea while talking about the day's work. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we've been here doing this for years. It's a tough job sometimes, staying on top of everything, but it's what we know. Thoppumpady is a good place for a business like ours, and we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. It is just life by the water.
