You can find us at Koodarappilly House on Janatha Road. It’s on the ground floor, right near the JRWA ground. Vyttila is always crowded, so getting things in and out can be a real headache sometimes. If there is a cricket match or a meeting at the ground, the whole lane gets blocked up with cars. We handle meat, so everything has to be kept very cold and very clean. That takes up most of our energy. We aren't some big corporate chain with a million outlets. It's just this one spot in Kochi. Most of our day is spent cleaning, cutting, and packing. It’s cold inside because of the freezers, so we wear sweaters even when it’s boiling hot outside in the Achambhava Lane. We’ve had some long nights here when the deliveries are late. The floor is usually wet from the cleaning we do every hour. We don’t really have a front desk or anyone to greet you with a smile. If you come in, you’ll probably see someone in an apron busy with a knife or moving crates around. It’s loud because of the compressor noise, but we’re used to it. It’s just how the work gets done. We try to keep it simple and focus on the product we are sending out to the local shops and people. It keeps us busy and pays the monthly rent at least.
