House Of Yesudas Hotel

House Of Yesudas Hotel is down in Fort Cochin on Bastin Road. This part of Kerala has a very specific feel to it, very different from the rest of Cochin. Bastin Road is one of those spots where you can see the old colonial influence in the buildings around us. It is usually quite quiet here compared to the main city, but we still get plenty of people walking by. The hotel is a simple setup. We don't go in for anything flashy. Most of our day is spent making sure the rooms are aired out because of the coastal humidity. You can smell the salt in the air most mornings. We are a small team here. We handle everything from the front desk to checking the linens ourselves. It is a slow-paced life in Fort Cochin, and we like it that way. Sometimes we sit out front for a minute when it is not too hot. The local neighborhood has a lot of small shops and cafes, so there is always someone to talk to. We keep the floors swept and the water running. It is just a basic place for people to stay while they look at the fishing nets or the old churches nearby. We don't put on any acts. We just run the hotel as best as we can every day.
