Chiramel Residency

Chiramel Residency is an old house we turned into a place for people to stay. We are at No.1/2296 on Lily Street in Fort Cochin. It is a very quiet street, even though the St Francis Church is just a short walk away. This part of Cochin has a lot of old trees and narrow roads, which is why people like coming here for holidays. The building has high ceilings and thick walls, which helps keep things cool even when the sun is out. We live nearby and look after the place ourselves. It is not a big hotel with a lobby and elevators; it is more like staying in someone's home. The rooms are simple with wooden furniture and windows that look out onto the street or the small garden we keep. We see a lot of travelers who want to see the old parts of the city without staying in a big chain. Sometimes we sit on the porch and talk to the guests about where to find a good meal or which bus to take to the next town. The plumbing is old fashioned and sometimes the floorboards creak, but that is part of the charm of living in Fort Cochin. We do not have a big staff, just us and a couple of people to help with the cleaning and laundry. It is a slow pace of life here on Lily Street. We just want people to have a quiet place to sleep.
