Architect Rikhina Akhil

Architect Rikhina Akhil is located in the Revenue Tower, specifically at S 36, on West Avenue Road. This is in Ernakulam South, right across from the boat jetty. It’s a busy area with a lot of people coming and going from the ferry. Our office is where we do all our planning and drawing. We don't have a huge staff or a big corporate office. It’s just a space where we focus on building designs and projects. Being near the water is nice, although the humidity can be a bit much sometimes. We spend a lot of time on our computers and with large rolls of paper. Architecture is basically about trying to make things fit and work properly. We have to deal with a lot of different people, like builders and government officials. Sometimes we are out at a dusty construction site and other times we are here in the Revenue Tower. It’s a lot of back and forth. We don't really use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just try to create designs that make sense for the people using them. Ernakulam is always changing, and there is always something new being built. We just play our small part in that process. The office is quiet for the most part, though you can hear the boat engines from the jetty throughout the day.
