We have both tea and arecanut growers in our group, which keeps things interesting. These crops are the backbone of our community here in East Siang. We decided to start this company so we could have a collective voice. It’s hard to do everything on your own when you’re just one farmer. Our office is a simple spot in the village where we gather to talk about the prices and the weather. We don't have any big-city experts helping us. We are just local people who know how to grow tea and nuts. Sometimes our meetings go on for a long time because everyone has their own way of doing things. We try to keep it all organized, but it’s a bit of a struggle with all the paperwork. Arunachal Pradesh is a beautiful place to farm, but it takes a lot of effort to get the produce out to the buyers. We are just trying to make that process a little smoother for everyone in the village. It’s not a polished business, just a group of neighbors working together to make a living.
