The Libra Company

Gagan Vihar is a decent enough place to have a business. At number 286, we’ve got a small setup for The Libra Company. It’s not a huge operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us trying to keep things organized. The office is usually a bit cramped because we keep too many files and samples lying around. We spend a lot of our time answering emails and talking to people on the phone. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we all just sit there waiting for a page to load, which gives us time to talk about what we’re having for lunch. We don't have a lot of rules about what people wear or how things look, as long as the work gets finished. It’s a very casual atmosphere. We have some plants in the window, but they’re mostly struggling because nobody remembers to water them every day. We don't have a mission statement or any of those corporate posters on the wall. We just have a calendar and a clock. Most of our clients come to us because they know we will actually pick up the phone when they call. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just trying to run a decent business and keep our customers happy enough to come back next time. That is the way we like it. We usually close up early on Saturdays if there isn't much left to do.
