Smoky Chettinad

So, we are over at Shop Number 2 in Acharya Niketan. If you know Mayur Vihar Phase 1, you probably know the DDA market area. We are tucked in there, right near the HDFC Bank. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out. We focus on the Chettinad style of cooking because that is what we know how to do. The shop isn't huge, but we keep things running. It’s mostly about getting the spices right and making sure the food is hot when it reaches the table. My cousin helps me out with the orders, and we have been here for a while now. Some days are packed, and some days it is just a few regulars stopping by for a quick bite. We don't have fancy decor or anything like that. Just some tables and chairs and a kitchen that stays pretty busy. The DDA local shopping complex is a good place to be because there is always something going on nearby. If you are walking around the market, you might smell the spices before you even see our sign. We just try to make food that tastes like home, or at least how we remember it from back south. It is honest work for us. We are easy to find since the bank is such a big landmark for everyone in the neighborhood. People usually just drop in after they finish doing their errands. That is pretty much who we are, just a small shop in Delhi trying to serve decent food.
