Our office is up on the second floor of the Mahavir Complex, specifically room 203. If you know Rishabh Vihar, you know Plot No 3 is right in the middle of things. The space here is a bit cramped because we have catalogs and wood samples piled up on almost every shelf. We spend most of our mornings drinking tea and going over drawings for kitchens or wardrobes. It’s not one of those shiny showrooms you see in magazines. We have a few drafting tables and some older computers that still do the job. People usually call us first and then drop by to look at laminates or handle samples. Sometimes the lift in the building is out of order so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It’s a good workout I guess. We deal with a lot of local homeowners who want to change their floors or put in new cabinets. Most of the day is spent talking to contractors or making sure the measurements are right. We don’t really do big presentations, we just sit down with a pencil and show what can fit in the space. The light in the office is okay in the morning, but we had to add some extra lamps for when we stay late finishing up a layout. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to figure out how to make rooms work better for the people living in this part of Delhi.
