Architectural Design Studio

The Architectural Design Studio is over in Mayur Vihar Phase-1. Our studio is tucked away here where it is a bit quieter than the main road. It is basically just a few rooms filled with large tables and a lot of rolls of paper. We have some computers for the drawing work, but there are still plenty of pencils and rulers lying around everywhere. The walls are covered in sketches and some old photos of buildings we have worked on over the years. It is not a very polished office. We have stacks of books about construction and some samples of tiles and bricks sitting in the corners. Sometimes clients come in and we have to clear off a chair for them because we’ve been using it to hold a model or some site plans. We spend a lot of our time arguing over where a wall should go or how to fix a problem with a roof. It’s a lot of thinking and drawing and then redrawing when things don't fit right. We often have tea delivered from the shop downstairs while we are working late into the night. It is just a small team of us here. We don't have a big reception area or anything fancy like that. We just focus on getting the designs to work out on paper before the builders start their part of the job. It's just what we do.
