Canvas Intergrated Cold Chain Servicess is located at C-152 in Nirman Vihar. This is a busy area of East Delhi, and being in the cold chain business means we are always on the clock. Keeping things at the right temperature is a lot of work and sometimes quite stressful. Our office isn't very big because most of our real work happens with the trucks and the storage units elsewhere. But this is where the planning happens. We have maps on the walls and a lot of clipboards hanging near the door. The phones ring quite a bit, mostly drivers checking in or people asking about their deliveries. We don't have a uniform; we just wear what is comfortable for a long day of work. There is a lot of paper moving across the desks every day. We aren't a high-tech startup with bean bags. We have plastic chairs and a few old wooden tables. Sometimes the air conditioner here struggles against the Delhi heat, which is ironic given our business. We know the local shops around Nirman Vihar well because that is where we get our lunch most days. It’s a tough business with tight timings, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we know how to handle the hiccups that always come up. Most nights we don't leave until the last driver is accounted for and the manifests are all signed off. It’s just how things go.
