Our company is Sarthaksamarpan Farmer Producer Company Limited, and you can find us in Dumka. Specifically, we are in Mandaldih, which is in the Saraiyahat block. We work out of Sanjay Prasad Yadav’s place. He’s the son of Hari Prasad Yadav, and they’ve been part of this community for ages. Being out in Dumka means we’re a bit far from the big city, but that’s where the farms are, so that’s where we belong. We are a producer company, which is just a fancy way of saying we are a group of farmers trying to help each other get better prices for our crops. Mandaldih is a small village, so everyone knows where Sanjay’s house is. We don’t have a big corporate sign or anything. We just have a small desk and some chairs where we sit and figure out the logistics of moving grain and vegetables. It’s practical work. We deal with the realities of the weather and the bad roads every day. Sometimes it feels like we spend more time worrying about transport than actual farming. But it’s what we do. The name Sarthaksamarpan is a bit of a mouthful, but it means something to us. We’re just a bunch of neighbors in Saraiyahat trying to make sure our families can keep farming for another generation. It’s honest, slow work, but we are proud of what we manage to get done together.
