Barkanda Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our spot is right along NH-31 in Chalbanda village. Being near the highway means there is always noise from the trucks going by towards Bilasipara or Dhubri. It’s a handy location because it makes it easier to move our stuff around. Barkanda is the post office we use, and the local police station is over in Bilasipara. We are just a bunch of farmers who decided to pool our resources. The company name is Barkanda Farmer Producer, but we are really just neighbors working together. Some days are just about fixing the equipment or checking on the fields. The dust from the road gets on everything, but you get used to it after a while. We don’t have a big corporate story. We just needed a way to get better prices for what we grow in Chalbanda. Usually, someone is hanging around the office if they aren't out back. It’s a practical setup, nothing more. We spend a lot of time discussing the weather, as the rain around here can be unpredictable. When the crops are ready, things get very hectic. The highway stays busy all night, but we usually head home once the sun goes down. It’s just how we live and work in this part of Dhubri. It is not a fancy business, just people trying to make a living off the land while the world drives by on the NH-31. We don't have much time for polish, just for the daily tasks.
