We started Bilasipara Farmer Producer Company Limited because people around here in Boalkamari needed a better way to handle things. You can find us at Basiran Bibi’s house in Pt-1, right near the Bilasipara post office in Dhubri. It’s not a big office or anything fancy, just a spot where we gather to figure out the farming season. Mostly, it’s about getting the seeds sorted and making sure everyone has what they need when the rain starts. Sometimes the roads are a mess, especially during monsoon, but we manage. We aren't some big city corporation. We are just local folks trying to keep the land going. A few of us sit down in the evenings to talk about prices and how to get the crops to the market without losing too much money on the way. It gets loud sometimes when everyone has a different idea. Assam weather isn't always kind to us, so we have to stick together. If you walk past the post office and ask for the farmer group at Basiran’s place, people will point you the right way. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just our hands and the dirt. It’s hard work, and some days are better than others, but that’s just how it is here in 783348. We hope to keep this going so the younger ones don’t all leave for the city. It is just us, the soil, and a lot of patience.
