Shri Gramadevi Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our place is at number 160 on Badiger Oni in Mangundi, which is part of Dharwad. It’s a local spot where the community comes together to deal with the harvest. We called it Shri Gramadevi Farmers Producer Company Limited after the local deity, mostly because it felt right for the village. The building is old but it stays cool in the summer heat. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or sleek furniture here. Just some wooden benches and a big table where we count the bags. Every morning, the local farmers walk over or bring their tractors to the front. We spend the hours grading the produce and making sure everything is logged correctly in our books. Sometimes the ink on the pens runs out and we have to go find another one from the neighbor. It's that kind of place. We aren't looking to expand into some big city company. We just want the people in Mangundi to get a fair shake for the work they do in the fields. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting sacks and checking the moisture in the grains. By the end of the day, we’re all pretty tired and ready to go home to our families. We do this because it’s what we know. There’s no big secret to it, just showing up and working together to make sure the crops are handled well.
