Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra

Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra is located right on Garag Road in the Madhava Nagar area of Dharwad. If you know this part of town, you know it can get a bit busy with traffic heading out toward the outskirts. The school building sits back from the road a bit, which helps with the noise, but you still hear the occasional truck horn during lessons. We have been here for a good number of years now, and the building shows its age in some spots, like the worn-out steps leading up to the main hall. Every morning starts with the kids lining up for prayer, and then it is straight to the classrooms. We have a lot of students from around Dharwad, and their parents are mostly local folks who want their kids to have a steady education. The teachers here are local too, so they know the families well. In the staff room, there is always a pot of tea going and a lot of talk about how to get the students to focus more. The playground is mostly dirt and stone, which means a lot of scraped knees during the lunch break, but the kids do not seem to mind much. We just handle things as they come, whether it is a leaking pipe or a missing textbook. It is a practical place where the day is filled with reading, writing, and the usual school routines.
