Pragati Vidyalaya

Pragati Vidyalaya sits right on the Hubli Karwar Road, near Kalghatgi Road in Dharwad. It’s a spot that many people pass by while they’re traveling between the two towns. The school building is pretty easy to spot if you’re looking for it in the 580002 area. We’ve been operating here for years, and it’s just a normal part of the landscape now. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of teachers talking and students shuffling their papers. We have a variety of age groups here, so there is always a mix of little kids and older teenagers around the premises. The playground is just a patch of ground where they play cricket or run around when they have a break. We don't have expensive facilities, but the roof doesn't leak and the classrooms are big enough for everyone. The staff stays quite busy making sure the attendance is taken and the lessons are followed. It gets dusty being so close to the main road, so we’re always cleaning something. It’s a working school for local families who live in this part of Dharwad. We don’t do a lot of fancy events; we just stick to the school calendar and make sure the exams happen on time. People know us as a reliable place where their children can spend their day. It’s an unpretentious school where the focus is just on getting through the school year without too much trouble.
