Hps School is in Karadagi, which is in the Haveri district. It is a quiet place overall. The school building isn't anything special to look at, just some sturdy walls and a roof that keeps the rain out. We have been working here in Karadagi for quite some time now. The kids come from the local families who mostly do farming or work in the small shops around Haveri. We start the day early before it gets too hot. There is a lot of space around the school for the children to run, and they usually do that the moment the bell rings. In the classrooms, we have old desks and some charts on the walls that show the alphabet and numbers. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, so we rely on books and talking to the students. Some days the cows from the nearby fields wander a bit too close to the gate, and we have to shoo them away. It is just a regular village school life. The teachers walk or take the bus to get here. We spend our afternoons grading papers and planning what to teach the next day. It is a lot of work but it is what we do. People in the village know us and we know them. We don't have much, but the school stays open and the classes go on as they always have.
