V. M. S. Granite

You can find us right on the Bye Pass Road in Karimangalam, at No. 2 J. Being on the bypass means we see a lot of trucks and cars zooming past all day. It’s a noisy spot, but it’s great for getting the big granite slabs in and out without getting stuck in town traffic. We have a large open area where we keep the inventory. Most of it is just sitting out under the sun. We have a small cabin where we handle the paperwork and take a break from the heat. It’s got a tin roof, so it gets pretty loud when it rains. We’ve been working here for a while, mostly dealing with builders and people driving through who see the slabs from the road. We don't have any polished sales talk. We just show people what’s available and tell them the price. It’s heavy work, and our clothes are usually covered in stone dust by lunch. There’s a tea stall just down the road where we usually go to get a break. The business is pretty straightforward—load the stone, sign the paper, and move on to the next one. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the crane and the slabs safely. It’s a simple life out here on the bypass. We just focus on getting the job done and making sure the stock is ready for whenever the next truck pulls in.
