Arasu Granites

We are set up inside the P.V.S. Mills Campus on the Salem Main Road in Kaveripattinam. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic passing by all day long. The old mill campus gives us plenty of room to store the granite blocks and slabs we work with. It is an old-fashioned kind of place. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. Most of our day is spent outdoors or in the sheds handling the stone. Salem Main Road is a major route, so it is easy for the big lorries to find us when they are bringing in new stock. We have a small group of workers who have been doing this for a long time. They know how to spot a good piece of stone just by looking at it. We get quite a bit of dust around here, especially when the wind blows across the campus. It’s just part of the environment. We usually have the gates open from early morning. Customers stop in while they are traveling between towns. We just show them around the piles of granite and answer their questions about the different types we have. It’s not a complicated business. We just buy the stone, process it a bit, and sell it to whoever needs it for their construction work. It’s been our way of life here in Kaveripattinam for quite some years now.
