Mahasamund Mahashakti Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are over at Ward 10, Bhatapara, Sbi Road, Birkoni. Our company name is Mahasamund Mahashakti Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited, but that’s a bit of a mouthful for daily use. We just call it our group. Being on the SBI Road is handy because we often have to visit the bank for our accounts. The office is a small building where we keep all our records and bags of seeds. It’s a women-led setup, and we take care of everything from the cleaning to the bookkeeping. We don't have any high-tech gadgets, just a basic setup that gets the job done. Birkoni is a nice place to work, especially on market days when everyone is out and about. We talk to the local farmers and try to coordinate our harvests so we get a better deal. It’s not always easy, and sometimes we have disagreements about how to do things, but we always figure it out. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or official. We are just neighbors who share a common goal. Our office is often full of the smell of tea and the sound of people chatting. We have a couple of old cupboards for our files and a calendar that’s usually a month behind. It’s a real place for real people. We just keep moving forward, one season at a time, trying to do right by our members.
