We’re a group of women from Siwani Khurd village, right here in Dhamtari. Our office is in Ward No. 05, near the School Para area. We call ourselves Dhamtari Swabhiman Women Farmer Producercompany Limited because we take pride in the farming we do together. It’s not a big corporate office; it’s just a place where we meet to talk about the seeds and the harvest. Most of us have been farming our whole lives since we were young. We decided to come together to make sure we get a better deal for our hard work. In the village, everyone knows everyone. We don't need any big posters or commercials to say who we are. We spend our mornings in the fields and our afternoons discussing the business side of things together. It can be a lot to manage with the kids and the house, but we make it work somehow. Sometimes we help each other out with the planting if someone falls behind due to sickness or family issues. We grow what’s usual for this part of Chhattisgarh. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy year-round. We aren't looking for any fancy awards or recognition. We just want our community to be a bit better off.
