Sahkirtan Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Dewas, over in the Barkheda Tonkkala area. We use Dhiraj Kumar’s place as our main point of contact. It’s a local operation, run by people who actually live here and work the soil. We’re right in the 455001 area, and most of us have been around these parts since we were kids. Farming is just what we do, and this company is our way of trying to make it work a little better for everyone involved. We don't have a fancy office or any marketing people. It’s just us sitting around a table, or sometimes just outside, talking about prices and what seeds are looking good this year. Some people might think it’s all very official because it’s a "Company Limited," but really it’s just a bunch of neighbors. We deal with the usual stuff like tractors, fertilizers, and hoping for enough rain. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don't, but that’s just how it is. We aren't here to give anyone a sales pitch. We just want to get our work done and maybe make the process of getting our crops to market a bit less of a headache. It's practical work for practical people. If you’re ever in Barkheda Tonkkala, you’ll see us around, probably busy with something out in the fields or loading up a truck. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
