Our office for Zee News Ltd. is located at 25, Ground Floor, Vinoba Puri, Lajpat Nagar-2 in New Delhi-24. It is a ground floor spot, which is handy because people are always coming and going throughout the day. New Delhi is a fast place, and Lajpat Nagar is no different. There is always noise outside and people rushing around. Inside, we are focused on the news. It is not like what you see on the screen all the time; there is a lot of waiting around and typing and checking facts that happens in these rooms. The desks are usually covered in papers and half-empty water bottles. We are not trying to be fancy here. We just have a job to do, getting stories ready and making sure everything is lined up for the broadcasts. Some days are really quiet and we just sit around talking about the weather, but other days everything happens at once and we are all running. It is a bit cramped sometimes with all the equipment and the desks, but we make it work. Living and working in New Delhi-24 means you are used to the heat and the crowds. We do not have a big corporate speech to give. We are just a bunch of people working on the ground floor, trying to stay on top of what is happening in the world today. We keep the kettle going for tea and just keep at the job until it is done.
