Pandav Nagar is where we have set up shop, right at A109/110. The name of the place is just Yes, which people sometimes find a bit funny, but it is what we went with. We have been in this part of New Delhi for a good bit now. It is a crowded area, lots of narrow lanes and people rushing around all day long. Dealing with the daily crowd can be tiring, especially when the Delhi heat really starts to kick in during May and June. I spend most of my time behind the counter or checking on things in the back. It is not a big operation, just a few of us trying to get the work done right. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and sweeping the front area. You get to know the neighbors after a while, like the guy who sells snacks next door and the families living upstairs. We do not do anything too fancy here, just practical stuff that people need. Sometimes the stock does not arrive on time or there is a problem with the billing, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It is honest work and it keeps the kitchen fire burning at home. Most days are pretty much the same, but every now and then something interesting happens on the street to break the routine. I would not say it is an easy life, but it is our life and we are used to it by now.
