Vohra Bulb House

At Vohra Bulb House, we live surrounded by glass and wire. Our shop is at Karol Bagh Hari Singh Nalwa Street 1653/33, which is a spot that gets a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. When you walk in, you’ll see bulbs of every shape and size tucked into the shelves. Some of them have been sitting there for a while, just waiting for the right person to need them. We spend a lot of time testing things out on the little board we have set up by the counter. It’s a bit of a mess with all the different sockets, but it works fine for showing people that their light actually turns on. The street outside is always noisy with horns and people haggling over prices, but we just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes a box gets bumped and we hear that sound of glass breaking, which is just part of the job when you deal with lights. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where the specific spare parts are kept. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. The floor is concrete and a bit uneven in the corners, but it doesn't bother us. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. It’s just a practical place for people to get what they need.
