We spend a lot of our time surrounded by fabrics, sketches, and sewing machines. It’s not like what you see on TV; it’s mostly just a lot of hard work, measuring things, and cutting cloth. The workspace gets pretty messy with threads and scraps everywhere by the end of the day. We have a few people who help with the stitching and the embroidery. Lajpat Nagar is a great place to be because of all the energy, though it can be a bit loud outside. We’ve been at this location for quite a while now. People come in for fittings and we spend a lot of time making sure the clothes fit just right. It’s a lot of manual labor and staring at small details until your eyes get tired. We don’t really do big marketing pushes; people usually find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing the work. It’s a practical business at its heart. We just take the materials and try to make something that looks decent. Some days are longer than others, especially when a big event is coming up and we have a lot of outfits to finish on time. We just keep our heads down and focus on the sewing until the job is done.
