Vikram Hotel New Delhi is situated at A-1 near the Fire Station in Jor Bagh. Being so close to the fire station means we hear the sirens pretty often, which is just part of life here. Safder Jung is a very busy area, and there is always something going on outside the doors. The hotel itself is an older building and it has that lived-in feel to it. We don't have all the modern gadgets you see in the new places, but the rooms are there and they work for what people need. The staff spends a lot of time walking up and down the stairs because the elevator is a bit slow sometimes. We handle guests coming in from all over, some staying for a night and others for much longer. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the laundry and the kitchen orders every single day. The lobby is small and usually has a few people waiting around with their bags. We have a lot of regular guests who like the fact that we are right in the middle of everything in New Delhi. It is not a perfect place, but it is honest and we do our best with what we have. Most of us have worked here for years and we know the neighborhood like the back of our hands. It's just a busy hotel run by a small group of tired but hardworking people.
