Running a shop in Paharganj Main Bazar is definitely an experience. We are at 1674, right where the street gets narrow and the crowds get thick. There are backpackers, cows, and motorbikes all trying to use the same path at once. Our place is small, mostly just a counter and some glass cases for phones and SIM cards. It’s usually pretty loud with all the music and shouting from the street vendors outside. I spend my day fixing screens or helping people get their data plans sorted out. The lighting inside isn't the best, so I have to use a desk lamp for the fine work on the circuit boards. We have boxes of chargers and cables piled up in the back corner. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the backup battery just to keep the lights on. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people come in at once. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so the chaos feels normal to me, but it can be a lot for someone new. We try to keep things organized, but in a place this small, things just tend to stack up. I usually grab lunch from the paratha shop down the lane when I get a spare ten minutes. It’s busy from morning until late at night. Sometimes I just stand at the door for a minute to breathe in some fresh air, though it’s mostly exhaust fumes.
