Our office is in Janak Puri, specifically at C-5-B/24-A. We have been in this part of New Delhi for a good bit of time now. Vertex Customer Services is basically a lot of people sitting with headsets talking to folks all day. It is usually pretty loud inside because of all the talking. We have rows of desks and computers that never really get a break. The neighborhood is full of shops and other offices, so lunch hour is always a scramble to find a good spot to eat. We don't have a fancy breakroom with games. We just have a small area for water and some snacks. People come and go in shifts. Some work late into the night when the rest of Delhi is sleeping. It is a lot of repetitive work, answering the same questions over and over, but that is just what the job is. We don't pretend it is anything else. The carpets are a little stained from spilled tea, and the chairs squeak a bit. We just keep our heads down and try to help the people on the other end of the line. It is a regular workplace with regular problems. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles in the peak of summer, but we make do with fans. It is just life in Janak Puri. We are always here.
