United Restaurant Ltd, U. S. Pizza

Down in Rohini at E3/402, Sector 18, Ravi Kant Prabhakar and the rest of us are busy with the pizza shop. United Restaurant Ltd runs this U. S. Pizza outlet, and it’s usually quite a scene in the evenings. We spend most of our shift near the ovens, so it gets pretty warm in the back. We have a few tables out front, but a lot of what we do is for people living in the apartments nearby. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we see a lot of families and students. We’re not some big fancy dining hall. It’s a straightforward pizza place where we focus on getting the dough right and the toppings on. Sometimes the delivery drivers get stuck in the Sector 18 traffic, which is always a mess around dinner time. We have a small fridge for the sodas and a counter that’s seen a lot of use. The floor is tile and we have to mop it constantly because of the flour and footsteps. It’s a basic operation. We don’t have a big marketing team; we just put the sign out and start cooking. We’ve had the same oven for a long time, and it works just fine. We just want to keep the shop running and make sure the boxes are folded for the next order. We sometimes listen to the radio while we work to keep things moving along.
