Unique Optician

We’ve been here at D-117 in South Ganesh Nagar for a while now. Delhi gets really dusty, so most of my morning is just wiping down the display cases so people can actually see the frames. It’s not a huge place, just a regular shop where we help folks get their eyes checked and pick out some glasses. Some people come in knowing exactly what they want, but others spend an hour trying on every single pair we have on the shelves. We don't mind it. It's part of the day. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people walking to the market nearby. We keep a few chairs for people to wait. Sometimes the eye testing machine acts up a bit if it’s too hot, so we have to keep the little AC unit running constantly. Most of our neighbors are regulars who just drop by to say hello or get their nose pads replaced because they fell off again. It’s just me and a couple of other guys working here. We try to get things done on time, though sometimes the lab takes a day longer than we hoped. That’s just how it goes. We don’t have fancy coffee or anything, just a water dispenser in the corner.
