We set up Umesh Tour And Travels right here in Mohan Garden, which is part of the Uttam Nagar area. It is a very busy part of New Delhi, and our place at L-2 B-93 is right in the middle of all the noise. We have got a few cars and we spend most of our time coordinating where the drivers need to go. It is usually just me and a couple of others keeping track of all the different bookings. The roads around here can be pretty bumpy and the traffic in Uttam Nagar is almost always a complete mess, but we make it work. We started this business because we knew the area well and saw that people needed some reliable rides. It is not a big corporate setup by any means. We have a small office with a few plastic chairs for when customers drop by to talk about their upcoming trips. We do a lot of airport runs and some local sightseeing tours for families. Sometimes things do not go perfectly, like when a tire gets flat or a driver is late because of some protest on the road, but we always try to sort it out as fast as we can. We keep a big notebook with all the bookings written down because computers can be a bit unreliable sometimes. It is just a simple life running a travel business in India.
