Udaan India Pvt Ltd. operates out of N-92 on the ground floor in Jamia Nagar. Having the office on the ground floor is handy because we don't have to deal with stairs and people can just walk right in from the street. Jamia Nagar is a lively part of New Delhi, and there is always something happening right outside our door. The office is usually humming with the sound of computers and people talking. We handle a lot of travel and visa related work, so there are always stacks of forms and envelopes waiting to be processed. It’s not a huge office, just a few desks and some chairs for people to wait. We have a small pantry in the back where we make tea, which is pretty much the fuel for our day. The walls are mostly bare, except for a calendar and maybe a few notes taped up. We spend a lot of time double-checking names and numbers because mistakes in this line of work cause a lot of trouble later. It can get a bit cramped when a few people come in at once, but we manage to keep things moving. The street noise is a constant background sound, but we don't really notice it anymore. We just keep working through the list of things to do, making sure every application is handled and every phone call is answered before we head home for the day to rest.
