Our small office is located in Nellore, over in Andhra Pradesh, at a place called Narayana Reddy Pet. It is connected to the family name Raghu Ramaiah, which is how most people around here know the location. The work we do involves a lot of captioning and transcription, so it is usually very quiet inside the room. Everyone is focused on their own screen with their headphones on. You can hear the sounds of motorbikes and children playing on the street outside because we keep the windows open for a breeze. Nellore can get extremely hot, and the dust gets into everything, so we are always wiping down the keyboards. We don't have any big corporate meetings or fancy coffee machines. We just have a kettle for making tea or coffee when we need a break. Most of the time, we are just typing away for hours. It is a bit of a repetitive job, but we are used to the rhythm of it now. We eat our lunch at the desks and sometimes talk about the local news or the weather. The office doesn't have a big sign out front, so it just looks like any other house in the pet area. We’ve been doing this for a long time and we just focus on getting the work done accurately. It’s a simple, quiet life for us here in the office.
