Travelport

If you head over to Ganesh Nagar and find building B-18, you have to go all the way up to the third floor to find the Travelport office. Being on the top floor means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, but it is a lot of steps to climb every morning. The office is in the 110092 zip code area of New Delhi. Inside, it is mostly just a bunch of us sitting at our desks with headsets on. We deal with a lot of numbers and flight codes all day long. The walls are mostly bare, except for maybe a calendar or a map pinned up somewhere near the window. It isn't a place meant for showing off; it is just where the work happens. We drink a lot of water because talking so much makes your throat dry. The windows look out over the rooftops of Ganesh Nagar, and you can see the laundry hanging out and the pigeons sitting on the ledges. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we all just sit there for a minute waiting for the screen to refresh so we can finish the booking. It’s a simple routine of answering calls and clicking through different screens. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big sign out front, just the address and the work we do every day to get people where they are going. We keep the tea bags stocked and the keyboards clean.
