Our place is on Street Number 10 in Jafrabad, which is part of New Seelampur. The house number is C-7/14. This is a very local part of Delhi 110053. It’s the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows everyone’s business and the lanes are pretty narrow. We’ve been running travel services from here for a good while. It’s not a big agency with posters of palm trees everywhere. Mostly, people from the area drop by because they need to book a ticket to go visit family or maybe find a bus to another state. We have a couple of computers and a lot of notebooks. The office is small and it can get quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan on high. Working in Seelampur means you deal with the real Delhi. It’s noisy, it’s dusty, but it’s home. We don’t try to act like a big international corporation. We just help people get where they need to go. If someone comes in with a complicated problem, we sit down and try to figure it out over a cup of tea. It’s practical work. Most of our furniture has been around as long as the office itself. We don’t see any reason to change things that still work fine. It’s just a normal street in a normal neighborhood where we do our bit. It keeps us connected to the people living right here.
