Our small office is located in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttaranchal. Being up here in the hills is a lot different than being in the dusty plains of India. The weather can be unpredictable, and sometimes the wind really howls through the valley, but it’s a beautiful place to spend the day. We are an online travel business, so as long as we have a decent internet connection, we can do our work. There are just a few of us here, and we spend most of our time on the computer, responding to emails and managing bookings. We don’t have any fancy office furniture; most of it is local wood and a bit worn at the edges. We dress for the weather rather than for any corporate standard. When the power goes out, which happens more than we’d like, we just take a break and sit outside for a bit. We don't have any polished mission statements or flashy ads. We just try to help people plan their trips as best we can. It’s a lot of data entry and checking schedules, which can be tedious, but doing it with a view of the mountains makes it much better. We are proud to be based in Uttaranchal and like the fact that we can do this kind of work from such a remote spot. It is a quiet, simple life, and we just focus on getting the job done.
