Toshali Holidays

We’ve been running Toshali Holidays out of Simri village for quite some time now. It’s not a big city office with glass walls or anything like that. We are just located here near the post office in the Darbhanga district. Most of us grew up around here in Bihar, so we know the local roads and how the trains run. My desk is usually covered in notebooks because the power goes out sometimes and I have to write everything down by hand. We help people figure out how to get from one place to another without too much trouble. It gets very hot in the summer, and the monsoon rains can make the roads a bit of a mess, but we stay open. People walk in from the village to ask about bus timings or how to get a ticket to the city. We don't have a big fancy sign, just a small one so people know it's us. It’s a quiet life here most days, just talking to neighbors and making calls on a mobile phone that doesn't always have the best signal. We try to be helpful when someone is confused about their travel plans. It’s just how things are done in a place like this. We’ve seen the village change over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. Most of our regulars just stop by for a chat before they decide where they want to go next.
