Our office is located at D-2/264 on the third slope of Sonia Vihar, right where Delhi and Haryana meet. We are the ones who handle the newspaper distribution and some of the local reporting for this side of the city. It’s a bit of a dusty area because the roads are always under some kind of repair. We have been at this address for many years now and we are a familiar sight to the people living on the slope. The work starts very early in the morning, often when it is still dark and cold outside. We have to be here to meet the trucks and get the bundles of papers sorted out. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting the stacks and making sure they get to the right delivery people. The office itself is quite simple, just some tables and benches where we sit and drink our morning chai. We don't have any high-tech gadgets, just some pens and paper to keep track of the numbers. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because we have to keep the newspapers dry, which is a real struggle. We aren't some big media hub with bright lights; we are just a local point that makes sure the news gets into people’s hands. It’s a hard way to make a living, but it’s an important part of the neighborhood’s daily life here in Sonia Vihar.
