About Ticketing Counter Executive – Tourism in Delhi
Working at the ticketing counter at K-220 Kali Bari Marg in New Delhi is a bit of a marathon some days. It’s a central spot, so we get all kinds of people coming in. The office is mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of paper rolls for the tickets. We aren't trying to be a fancy travel agency with palm trees in the windows. It’s just a practical place to get your travel documents sorted. We deal with a lot of questions about times, prices, and changes. Sometimes the systems are slow, and we have to ask people to wait a minute while we reboot everything. It’s just the reality of the job. We don't use any corporate scripts when we talk to you. We just say what’s available and what isn't. The area around Kali Bari Marg is always busy, so there’s a lot of noise from the street coming in through the door. We usually have a fan going and some water on the desk. It’s a straightforward role. We come in, we handle the queue, and we try to make sure everyone leaves with the right piece of paper. There’s no secret to it, just staying organized and being patient when things get a bit hectic in the afternoons. It’s a small space, but we make it work. Most of us have been doing this for a while now and we know the routine inside and out. It’s just everyday admin work.
