Working at Thomas Cook on Chitragupta Road is always interesting. Our office is tucked away at 107-D, Type-3 in Aram Bagh. It is a bit of a residential area, so it doesn't feel like a big commercial district, which we actually like. We handle a lot of travel documents and help people plan their journeys out of New Delhi-55. The office is usually filled with the sound of the printer going and someone talking on the phone to a client. We sit at our desks and look through papers most of the day. It is not a very large space, so we all know what each other is doing. Sometimes the traffic on Chitragupta Road makes it hard for people to find us the first time, but once they know where Aram Bagh is, it is easy. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just a simple door where people walk in. Most of the people who come to see us are from the nearby colonies. We try to be practical about everything and tell people honestly how long a visa might take or what the price is today. There is no point in making things sound better than they are. We just do the paperwork and make sure the files are in order before we go home for the evening. We usually shut the windows when the dust gets too bad from the street outside. It is just a regular office job for us.
