The Orchid Hotel,Delhi

We are located in Giri Nagar, which is right in the Kalkaji area of New Delhi. Specifically, we’re at Room-348. In this busy neighborhood, there is always something going on outside our windows. People are usually rushing to the metro or finding a place to eat nearby. Our spot here is simple. Much of our time is spent making sure things are neat and the rooms are ready for whoever is coming through. Unlike those huge hotels you see in the movies with gold everywhere, this is just a practical place in a real part of the city. Having been here for a bit now, we know all the shortcuts through the lanes of Kalkaji. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. When that happens, we just keep the door closed and focus on our chores. The staff here is small. At lunchtime, we all usually eat together in the back when things slow down. All sorts of people stay with us while they do their business in Delhi. Instead of a big lobby with fountains, we just have a desk and a few chairs. Although it’s a bit worn in some spots, it is clean and we try to keep it that way for everyone who stops by for a night or two. Our daily routine is just about hospitality in a very normal, local way.
