The Oberoi, New Delhi

We are based at C-238 in Kotla Mubarakpur. While many people think of the big hotel when they hear the name, this specific location is where a lot of the behind-the-scenes work happens. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, and our building is tucked away in the streets here. We deal with a lot of the administrative side of things and coordination for the staff. It’s not a place for guests to stay, but it’s vital for keeping everything else running. The office is often full of people moving around, checking schedules, or handling supplies. It’s a bit of a contrast to the fancy rooms elsewhere, as this is a working space through and through. We have desks piled with paperwork and phones that never seem to stop ringing. Kotla Mubarakpur is a crowded neighborhood, so it’s always lively outside. We’ve got a small team here that knows each other well. We don’t have any fancy uniforms in this office; we just dress practically for the day’s work. Sometimes we’re here early in the morning, and other times we’re finishing up long after the sun goes down. It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s satisfying to see things come together. We just focus on our specific tasks and make sure the details are taken care of so that the bigger picture stays on track. It is a busy, noisy, and very real part of our daily lives.
