The Living Room is located in a place called Hometala, which is in the Kandi area of Murshidabad. We are basically operating out of Md. Kamruzzaman’s premises. It is a very rural part of West Bengal, far away from the big city lights of Kolkata. We started this because we wanted a space where things could happen locally. The office is very simple—just some basic furniture and a few people who live nearby. We don't have high-speed broadband or fancy office equipment. We rely on local connections and word of mouth. The building is surrounded by trees and fields, and you can hear the birds and the local traffic from the window. It’s a very grounded way to run a business. We handle various local needs and help out the community when we can. Sometimes we have to travel a bit to get to the main district headquarters for paperwork or meetings. Life moves a bit slower here, and we like it that way. We don't use big words or try to act like we are more important than we are. We are just local people working in our own neighborhood. Visitors usually get offered a glass of water and a seat in one of our plastic chairs. It’s humble, but it’s our place and we are proud of it. Our neighbors often drop in just to say hello or ask for help.
