The Leela Palace ,Goa

This isn't the actual hotel with the pool and the beach but the sales and marketing office. We are located at 13101 and it is a different world from the guest rooms. We spend our days looking at numbers and trying to get people to visit the property in Goa. It is a lot of phone calls and emails back and forth. The Sales & Keting Directo stays pretty busy with meetings all day long. Our office is functional and maybe a bit cluttered with brochures and old posters. It is a high-pressure environment sometimes because there are always targets to meet. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the afternoon slump. Most of us have never even seen the actual palace in Goa more than once or twice. We just know the maps and the room types by heart. It’s a lot of coordination with travel agents and corporate clients. The air conditioning is always a bit too cold in here but nobody wants to turn it off. We have stacks of files on every surface. It is the kind of place where you know exactly where everything is even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We are just the people behind the scenes making sure the rooms get filled. It’s regular office life with a lot of talking and typing. We go home when the work is done and start again tomorrow.
