The Leela Kempinski,Gurgaon

Even though the name says The Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon, we actually work out of this office at R.Z. 505 A/92 in Raj Nagar – Part I. It’s right in Palam Colony, just across from the Sant Nir Bhawan. It might seem a bit strange to have an office here instead of at the big hotel itself, but this is where we handle a lot of the back-end support and administrative tasks. The area is very different from the fancy hotel atmosphere. Palam Colony is a real, working-class neighborhood with narrow streets and lots of local shops. Our office is just a regular building where we sit at our desks and get through the daily paperwork. There is no gold trim or marble floors here. We just have our computers, some filing cabinets, and a water cooler that always seems to be running out. We deal with all the stuff that people don't see when they stay at a luxury place—the bookings, the staff records, and the logistics. It’s busy and can be quite stressful during the peak season, but we manage. The street outside is always full of people and bikes, and the noise from the nearby Palam area is just part of our day. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We just do the work that supports the bigger name from this humble little spot in Raj Nagar. It’s a bit cramped sometimes but we get it done.
