The Imperial Hotel New Delhi

I work over at The Imperial Hotel New Delhi, but we have this spot in Sarita Vihar in South Delhi too. It’s a bit different from the main hotel area. Here, it feels more like a regular neighborhood. We handle various tasks that keep the main place running. It’s not all gold leaf and fancy carpets back here. We have offices and storage spaces that are pretty basic. Sarita Vihar is a decent area, though the traffic on the main road can be a bit much. Most of the staff here are just regular people from around South Delhi. We spend a lot of time on computers or checking inventory. It’s the kind of work that nobody sees but it has to happen. The building we’re in is just a standard one, nothing that stands out. We don't really have guests coming to this specific location, so it’s mostly just us. We keep things moving, making sure the supplies are ready and the schedules are set. It’s a quiet side of the business. We eat our lunch together and talk about the news. It’s a steady job. We don't pretend it’s anything other than what it is—a necessary part of a big operation. We deal with the back-end stuff that makes the hotel look good. It's mostly about spreadsheets and keeping track of everything we need for the day. It’s simple work that stays consistent day after day.
